San Jose

San Jose is the 10th most populous city in the United States. First settled in 1797, San Jose was California’s first city and state capitol. The city underwent a mass revitalization in the 1980s that saw the rise of new office and retail space, condos, hotels, parks, museums, and theaters. Today, San Jose is considered the “heart of Silicon Valley.”

San Jose is home to two major professional sports franchises, the Earthquakes (MLS) and Sharks (NHL). The SAP Center in downtown San Jose hosts a variety of events, concerts, and performances and is among the top performance venues in all of Northern California. In the downtown area, you will find San Pedro Square Farmer’s Market, a popular spot both day and night to local residents. This city also features a major state university, San Jose State.

San Jose is home to many major corporate headquarters including Adobe, BEA Systems, and a new Apple campus. It is also the host of “Silicon Valley’s Airport,” Mineta San Jose International Airport.
